Consultant Ophthalmologist

The role combines cornea-focused ophthalmic care with cataract and routine eye services. The consultant will manage patients with corneal and ocular surface conditions, conduct comprehensive ophthalmic assessments, perform relevant procedures, and provide surgical and follow-up care within the hospital’s active eye-care practice.

Eye Care Facility

The eye hospital is empanelled with major TPAs and supports a substantial patient base through OPD consultations and ophthalmic procedures. Its service portfolio includes Cornea, Cataract, LASIK, and minor ophthalmic procedures.

The Consultant Ophthalmologist will work within this established eye-care setup, with the role covering cornea-focused consultations and treatment alongside relevant cataract, surgical, and follow-up services.

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patients presenting with corneal disorders, ocular surface problems, infections, and related vision concerns.
• Assess the severity and clinical requirements of corneal conditions and determine appropriate medical or surgical management.
• Perform relevant corneal procedures and surgical interventions according to the patient’s condition and treatment plan.
• Undertake comprehensive ophthalmic assessments for patients requiring cataract or other eye-care services.
• Manage patients before and after procedures, including treatment guidance, recovery instructions, and scheduled follow-up.
• Maintain complete clinical documentation and coordinate patient care with other ophthalmic specialists whenever required.

Position Overview

• Manage assigned ophthalmology patients with appropriate attention to clinical assessment, treatment decisions, and continuity of care.
• Apply sound clinical judgement when determining treatment pathways for corneal, cataract, and other ophthalmic conditions.
• Maintain clear records of consultations, investigations, procedures, treatment plans, and patient progress.
• Follow established clinical protocols and maintain appropriate standards of patient safety and professional practice.
• Explain diagnoses, treatment options, procedural requirements, and follow-up instructions clearly to patients.
• Work collaboratively with relevant ophthalmic and healthcare professionals when patient management requires additional clinical input.
