Consultant Ophthalmologist

This position brings together ophthalmic consultations and cataract surgical care within a hospital-based practice in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh. The consultant will assess patients, determine suitable treatment, conduct routine eye-care consultations, and undertake cataract-related surgical work as required.

Hospital Clinical Profile

The 100-bed hospital currently has Pediatrics and Gynecology services and is empanelled under Ayushman Bharat. The ophthalmology setup provides scope for routine eye consultations and cataract-related surgical services within the existing hospital environment.

The consultant will contribute to the ophthalmology service through patient assessment, clinical decision-making, cataract care, and follow-up, while coordinating with other specialists whenever patient management requires it.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Attend to patients seeking consultation for vision concerns and other ophthalmic complaints.
• Review eye examination findings and establish suitable clinical management for individual cases.
• Undertake cataract procedures and other ophthalmic interventions relevant to the assigned practice.
• Advise patients on treatment, recovery, and the follow-up required after procedures or consultations.
• Coordinate with other treating specialists when an eye-care case requires broader clinical input.
• Keep patient documentation complete and conduct clinical work in accordance with hospital protocols.

Position Overview

• Take ownership of patient consultations and ophthalmic care throughout the relevant treatment journey.
• Base treatment decisions on clinical assessment and the individual requirements of each patient.
• Document consultations, procedures, treatment decisions, and follow-up information accurately.
• Maintain professional conduct while working within established hospital procedures and clinical standards.
• Explain diagnoses, treatment options, recovery instructions, and follow-up requirements clearly to patients.
