Consultant Urologist & Renal Transplant Surgeon

The position calls for a Consultant Urologist & Renal Transplant Surgeon to provide specialist care in Jalandhar, Punjab. The role covers urological evaluation and treatment, advanced surgical procedures, and renal transplant-related care while working in coordination with the wider clinical team.

The hospital has a capacity of 90+ beds and provides integrated medical care through active departments including Nephrology, Critical Care, Trauma, Neurosurgery, and Cardiothoracic Surgery.

Its setup includes dedicated surgical facilities for advanced urological interventions and organ transplantation programmes, supported by diagnostic imaging services and intensive care units.

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Assess patients with end-stage renal disease for suitability for renal transplantation and related surgical care.
• Manage appropriate pre-operative and post-operative care for kidney transplant donors and recipients.
• Monitor transplant patients for graft function, rejection, infections, and other relevant post-operative complications.
• Coordinate with nephrology, critical care, anaesthesia, and transplant teams as part of multidisciplinary patient management.
• Perform advanced urological procedures such as PCNL, URS, RIRS, TURP, and laparoscopic urological surgeries when required.
• Maintain appropriate clinical and transplant records while following applicable hospital protocols and national transplant guidelines.

• The role involves leading the hospital’s renal transplant program, including donor and recipient evaluation, transplant surgeries, and long-term follow-up care.
• The candidate should have experience in living donor and deceased donor kidney transplantation, donor nephrectomy, and management of complex transplant cases.
• Strong collaboration with nephrology, critical care, radiology, pathology, and transplant coordination teams is essential.
• Experience in advanced urological and minimally invasive procedures will be considered an added advantage.
